How EQUITISM Can Cure Capitalist SOCIAL ALIENATION

Dear Reader,

On the last page of his recent text entitled Dialectical Rocket Science, Karl Seldon noted his book MARX’S MISSING BLUEPRINTS, about the ‘‘‘Equitist’’’ alternative to both state-capitalism and anarchism, as pointing to “a way out of the reign of ever-deepening social alienation” that has characterized the capitalist epoch entire to-date.

Seldon argues, in Dialectical Rocket Science, that this social estrangement, not limited to the increasingly-lethal suffering of emotional misery and poverty, affects an afflicts ‘the human phenome, ‘‘‘psychohistorically’’’ – e.g., collective-psychologically – even including the content of modern, capitalist-epoch mathematical science, even leading to shocking and egregious errors in its mathematical models of physical reality.

Seldon there attributes the root cause of these errors, and that social alienation, to the “atomistic” self-identity structure, inculcated by capitalism, by the capitalist experience – by the, modernly-universal, socio-psychological trauma of “the war of each against all”, of the capitalistically ever-intensifying social abandonment and predatory omni-directional ‘enthreatenment’ of each social individual, surrounded by perils.  The resulting atomistic ego-structure and form of self-identity is “thenceforth ‘exo-projected’ onto all of external reality”, leading to the ideology of ‘point-atomism’, and “infinite” singularities, that afflict the solvability and empirical aptness of especially the nonlinear integro-differential equations that represent the best modern expressions of the “laws” of Nature.

¿What, then, in more detail, are the reasons per which we hold that ‘‘‘Equitism’’’ – ‘Equitist Political-ECONOMIC DEMOCRACY’ – as concretely described in MARX’S MISSING BLUEPRINTS, would mitigate that epidemic socio-psychological, ‘psychohistorical trauma of capitalist modernity, and gradually alleviate that, at present critically-deepening, social alienation?

Broadly, we infer that human social alienation was at an historical minimum, if only within the – human solidarity based – Paleolithic hunting/gathering/-scavenging bands, and within the early Neolithic village communities.  Then, within ranked, stratified and then class societies, a long arc of deepening social alienation – of the gradual dissolution of ancestral communities and extended families began – in humanity’s socio-historical trajectory.  Social alienation continually widened, reaching its zenith in the capitalist epoch, all the way up to today.

Today, majority class social individuals in the advanced-capitalist nation-states increasingly experience a war of all against each, and when, in response, they fight for their survival, experience a war of each against all – a war of themselves against all others.

They are threatened, at every turn, with unemployment – laid off in a flash with the slightest dip in their bureaucratic corporate employers’ rate of profit, or due to rejecting unwanted sexual advances of their supervisors, or for expressing their political views – and with under-employment, earning barely enough to scrape by for a while, with working two or more jobs “to make ends meet”, and with homelessness, when those “ends” don’t “meet”.

They are threatened with illegal crime – with burglaries, muggings, even in broad daylight, rapes, murders – and with the “lawful” crimes of pharmaceutical corporations and Rockefeller-AMA medical doctors, pushing “medicines” which may help with one condition, but that come with long lists of lethal “side effects”; of food processing corporations that fill their “eatable” products with deadly, disease-causing additives, and with the residues of toxic fungicides, herbicides and insecticides, etc.; of polluting corporations that fill their air and water in the neighborhoods where they live and where they work with deadly substances of burgeoning kinds.

If people have children at all – bucking the trend of rapidly declining rates of human reproduction, driven by the depression and hopelessness that more and more many feel in the wake of this deepening social alienation – they struggle to save enough to help those children to pay the hyperinflating costs of higher-education [increasingly reduced to ‘Rocke-Nazi Faction’ ideologies-inculcation], to give their children any chance to achieve even the same standard of living as their parents, let alone any progress in raising their living standards beyond those of their parents.

And, even as early as elementary school, their children are groomed for drug addiction – to minds-destroying and lives-destroying poisons – pushed by the ‘Rocke-Nazi’ CIA and its associated drug cartels.

Not only communities and extended families, but even nuclear families are increasingly dissolved by the solvent of commodity-and-money capitalism, by ‘“the cash nexus as the only remaining connection between human being and human being”’.

Divorce rates burgeon.  Children grow up estranged from one of their warring parents, or the other – or from both!  Siblings move far away to find jobs, and lose touch.  More and more households are single-person households.

Human beings are essentially social beings.  Isolated, they go rogue; they derange.

Increasing rates of mass shootings increasingly turn this war of each against all into a shooting war.

We expect that, after a successful – nonviolent – popular and populist transition beyond capitalism, to ‘‘‘Equitism’’’, or to something like it, as successor system to the capitalist system, a return historical arc in the trajectory of humanity, at a higher level of ‘the social forces of human-societal self-re-production’ than ever before, will spirally ensue – gradually, but with gradual acceleration – diminishing this social alienation back toward its original, minimal levels, but, this time, on a much higher, global, planetary scale, eventuating in a base-democratic Terran ‘planetary polis’.

¿Concretely, how, and why, do we expect that the widespread, tendentially global adoption and implementation of such a successor system would accomplish this gradual alleviation of the present, capitalist epidemic of social alienation?

Using, the ‘‘‘Equitist’’’ model for that successor system, we expect its core provisions to have the following, healing, collective-psychological and ‘‘‘psychohistorical’’’ effects on the representative social individual.

1.  Citizen Birthright Equity [CBE].  Modern, advanced-capitalist societies approach a kind of ‘universal orphanism’, with almost every majority-class individual, sooner or later – and, increasingly, sooner – “on their own” against the life-threatening and life-destroying hazards hinted-at above.

The proposed ‘Citizen Birthright Equity’ social trust funds, “inherited” from their society at birth, would tend to give each citizen the feeling that their society is backing them, “has their back”, and is investing in them, so as to grant them access to the basic opportunities of life and the pursuit of happiness.

CBE would also give them “skin in the game”.  E.g., if they were to commit crimes against others, they would forfeit some or all of their social trust funds in reparations to their victims.

2.  Citizen Externality Equity [CEE].  This new all-citizens ‘‘‘Equity’’’ would give majority class citizens the power of ‘grass roots, democratic regulation’ and restraint of pollution externalities coercively imposed upon them by corporations – and even by Citizen Stewardship Equity socialized producers’ cooperatives – where they and their families live, in their neighborhoods, their cities, their counties and their states, etc.

It would provide an alternative to the failed external “regulation”, by governmental bureaucracies easily prostituted to and captured by the “Big Money” of the corporate polluters and other externality generators who they were supposed to regulate and restrain, and also to increasingly unaffordable civil litigation against those same “Deep-Pocketed” polluters, with, instead, a democratic form of regulation of pollution and other externalities.

The helplessness that so many majority class citizens increasingly feel in the face of increasing and increasingly- lethal pollution by corporate behemoths – by the de facto ‘‘‘war’’’ waged by these corporations upon their families, their children – would come to its blessed end at last.

3.  Citizen Stewardship Equity [CSE].  Without a dictatorial state outlawing the wage-labor/salaried-labor/capitalism “social relation of production”, but with capitalist enterprises competing, for workers, with workers’ cooperatives, wherein workers democratically decide how they shall be treated – albeit within the constraints imposed by pleasing their customers – a human-solidarity-based, “democracy at work”, new model “social relation of production” is the upshot of a democratically-legislated new human right of ‘Citizen Stewardship Equity’.  These socialized cooperatives would compete with other such cooperatives, and with remaining capitalist enterprises, as well as with privately-owned workers’ cooperatives, operating in the same markets.

Per this new human right and new property right, citizens who formed such cooperatives would receive two streams of income: (1) compensation for time-worked in and for their cooperative, and (2) a share, proportionate to their time worked, in the net operating surplus of their cooperative enterprise [what would otherwise go, as net profit, to, e.g., absentee stock and bond holders, etc., in a capital/wage-labor social-relation-of-production enterprise].

Each cooperative worker would collectively “own” their cooperative – would legally own a share of “individual property” in its Stewardship Equity collective – but would not locally own the means of production used by their cooperative.  They would hold their, socially-granted, means of production, in ‘‘‘Stewardship’’’, not in local ownership.

Each cooperative’s means of production would be granted by a social bank – also a, competing, Stewardship Equity cooperative of a special kind – per those workers’ qualifying business plan, and the social bank cooperative would receive a share of those workers’ earnings in return – if the social bank that they applied to had the confidence in them to fund their business plan and the means of production that that plan called for in the first place, with that social bank thereby risking its own solvency by funding their plan.

The, so-funded, Stewardship Equity producers’ cooperative, would pay a ‘social rent’ on their social-bank granted means of production – from a part of which their sponsoring social bank cooperative would derive its income – because those means of production would be and would remain social property, to which they would be granted the usufruct in return for their monthly social rent payments on it and for it.

Each such producers’ cooperative would also pay a monthly premium for ‘technodepreciation insurance’, to help finance replacement means of production should their earlier means of production become technologically, competitively obsolete.

The ‘social rents’ paid by these ‘Citizen Stewardship Equity’ producers’ cooperatives would, in turn, help to fund the ‘Citizen Birthright Equity’ social trust funds gifted to each new citizen at birth.

We expect that the combination, the synergy, of the new human rights, and all-citizens property rights, of ‘Citizen Birthright Equity’, ‘Citizen Externality Equity’ and ‘Citizen Stewardship Equity’, would begin the restoration of human community and solidarity, and the attenuation of social alienation, that would make for an ongoing global social renaissance, and a new age of liberty, of prosperity, of the pursuit of human happiness, and of human flourishing.
